Requesting connections allows members to contact with the decision maker behind every deal. Learn what to do when requesting or receiving connections.
Sending a connection request
Requesting a connection is very easy. Once you have found an opportunity you are interested in and want to connect to, just click ''Connect'' to request the connection.
You can connect directly from the opportunity card in the search results, or from the opportunity details page.
You will then be asked to send an introductory message to the member who posted the opportunity. You can use the templated message to get started, however we strongly suggest that you send a personalized introduction about yourself and your business.
Once the connection has been established, you will see it in My Connections. From this page, you can chat with the members you are connected with.
Every time you send a connection, you will receive a confirmation email to your inbox. This message includes a link to access that specific connection and all the instructions on how to contact the other member.
We limit the amount of connection requests in order to prevent spam and unsolicited advertisement. As a limit, members can send 25 connections every 30 days. Please, contact us if you are experiencing trouble with this limitation.
Additional step for opportunities involving the sale of a company
Opportunities involving the sale of a company require an additional security step. The member who has posted the deal needs to accept the request in order to establish the connection.
You will not be allowed to message the member who has posted the opportunity or know their name if they do not approve your connection first.
If the posting member decides not to move forward with the conversation, you will receive a notification email.
Receiving a connection request
When another member requests a connection to your opportunity, you receive an email notifying you of the incoming request. To contact the member and discuss the opportunity further, click the link in the connection email to be redirected to My Connections or simply respond to the email.
Opportunity Network is a professional environment. It is a requirement for our members to promptly respond to all connections established, even if they are not the perfect business match.
